A new chapter!

It is Wednesday, 30th January 2019, and we drive out of the gates at Mission Kwasizabantu, Claridge. The “final” day has arrived. We, Andra and I, know and feel the finality of what is happening. We don’t talk. Our hearts are filled with emotions of all kinds. I look at Andra next to me – there is an emotional and spiritual turbulence in her that shows itself clearly in her face. She is truly suffering a departure of all she had loved and cared for. The reality has come, like the Wooly Neck Storks at Claridge that come to roost, we are no longer missionaries with Mission Kwasizabantu.

I remember the day we married some 35 years ago! Just the two of us! Then Chris was born and 28 years later he married and he and Geralda moved to Canada, Through the years it has always been us and Mission Kwasizabantu. We were never alone. There is very little privacy on the mission field! But now, it is like that “day of beginning ” for us again, just the two of us!

But first things first! We put our hands in the hands of the One who stilled the raging storm! We have a future because He lives and we can face tomorrow because He lives and we have a perpetual tomorrow because He lives! How marvelous and how wonderful that in Him, the living God, we can face all challenges awaiting us.

In my heart the words of a chorus comes to life:

  1. God is so good,
    God is so good,
    God is so good,
    He’s so good to me!
  2. God answers prayer,
    God answers prayer,
    God answers prayer,
    He’s so good to me!
  3. He cares for me,
    He cares for me,
    He cares for me,
    He’s so good to me!
  4. I love Him so,
    I love Him so,
    I love Him so,
    He’s so good to me!
  5. I’ll do His will,
    I’ll do His will,
    I’ll do His will,
    He’s so good to me!
  6. I praise His name,
    I praise His name,
    I praise His name,
    He’s so good to me!

May God then be our Daily Bread, sustaining us to do His will.

  1. May God be with you.
He is a God who takes care of his children. The Bible says He will never leave nor forsake us. We love you and we are praying for you for God’s protection and provision.
